October 8th free games roundup

There are eight free games to claim today across PC storefronts. Here is what you can add to your library.

Epic Games Store

Out of Sight

This is a stealth atmospheric horror puzzle game where you play as a blind girl named Sophie. You have to navigate an eerie mansion by perceiving the world entirely through the point of view of your teddy bear. It is free to claim and keep until October 15, 2026.

TerraScape

Bitfall Studios built a cozy city builder that uses a deck-building mechanic on a hexagonal grid. You draw cards to place buildings and score points through spatial combos, similar to Dorfromantik. You can grab it for free until October 15, 2026, continuing the storefront's weekly rotation seen when Havendock and Hyper Echelon just went free on the Epic Games Store.

Steam

Skull Hotel

This is a permanent free-to-play addition to the Steam catalog. You play as a housekeeper tasked with cleaning hotel rooms while evading deadly hidden entities. You can add it to your account right now and it does not expire.

Reminiscence

Another permanent free-to-play title on Steam, offering a short narrative experience. You explore a fragmented memory space to piece together a past event. The claim window is open indefinitely.

Fears to Fathom: Home Alone

This is the first episode of an episodic psychological horror series where every story is based on a narrative submitted by a player. You play as a teenager trying to survive a home invasion. It is permanently free to play on Steam.

itch.io

Back to Modern World - Fantasy Hero

This indie project is currently 100 percent off on itch.io. It is a visual novel and adventure game where a fantasy hero tries to survive in a modern setting. Once you claim it to your account, it stays in your library forever.

Shifting Labyrinth

This is a low-poly cooperative roguelike that you can play directly in your browser or download. You and a friend navigate a maze that constantly changes its layout. It is completely free with no expiration date.

Morning Will Wait

Set in 1968 New York, this is a cinematic noir story focusing on narrative choices and atmosphere. It is a short, self-contained mystery. You can download it for free right now.

Remember that the Epic Games Store offers expire on October 15, so grab those before the rotation changes. The Steam and itch.io titles are permanent free additions, but it never hurts to claim them while you are thinking about it.
