November 5th free games roundup

Five games and add-on bundles are free to claim and keep today across the Epic Games Store and itch.io. This batch pairs a colorful aquatic city-builder and a massive Planescape: Torment crossover pack with three smaller independent releases on itch.io.

Epic Games Store

1. Flotsam

Belgian studio Pajama Llama Games spent over five years refining Flotsam in Early Access before launching version 1.0 in December 2025, and the survival city-builder is a great catch if you enjoy management sims that don't take themselves too seriously. You command a crew of drifters across a flooded world, hauling plastic waste, driftwood, and old-world ruins out of the ocean to build a sprawling, self-sufficient floating town. It normally sells for $24.99, and as with previous weekly Epic Games Store giveaways, you can claim it for free until November 12 at 4:00 PM UTC (11:00 AM EST).

2. Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms (Morte's Champions of Renown Pack)

Codename Entertainment's official Dungeons & Dragons clicker management game is always free-to-play, but logging into Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms through the Epic Games Store right now nets you over $100 worth of in-game roster unlocks at zero cost. The headliner of Morte's Champions of Renown Pack is Morte himself, the wisecracking floating skull from the 1999 RPG classic Planescape: Torment, who joins fellow outcast Nordom alongside Donaar, Sentry, and Sheila. You also get 32 Platinum Chests for each of those five characters and an exclusive Kapak Draconian familiar, provided you log into the game via Epic before November 12 at 4:00 PM UTC.

3. Penance

Set in 1221 AD during the turbulent early reign of the child King Henry III, Penance is a story-driven medieval adventure from solo developer Pehriska. You step into the boots of Walter Marshal, fourth son of Sir William Marshal, returning from self-imposed exile to help his brothers govern their family holdings across England and Normandy as rebel barons and darker forces threaten the realm. The game typically costs $1.00, though the creator has made it 100% free to claim and download on itch.io for a one-week promotional window that runs through November 11.

4. Helbreath Survivors

Developer Gydor's Helbreath Survivors is a charming throwback to the 1999 Korean MMORPG Helbreath. It takes the familiar auto-firing horde survival loop popularized by Vampire Survivors and grafts it onto the strict, tile-based grid movement and classic spell effects, like Energy Bolt, Blizzard, and HellFire, of the original online RPG. It's an early test build that runs right in your browser on itch.io for free with no expiration date.

5. Blox Slider

Created by BdR Games with character illustrations by Delfo Pinto, Blox Slider is a clean, straightforward sliding-block puzzle game where your only goal is clearing a path to the exit. It plays directly in a web browser on PC or mobile without requiring an account or installation, making it an easy five-minute palate cleanser between larger games. Like most of BdR's web catalog on itch.io, it's permanently free to play with no end date attached.

Make sure to grab the time-limited giveaways on the Epic Games Store and claim your copy of Penance on itch.io before their promotional windows close next week.
