Level-5 just dropped Fantasy Life i on phones with console cross-save
The cozy RPG is now available on iOS and Android for $24.99, bringing full cross-save and crossplay to every single platform it's on.
Level-5 has released the mobile version of Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time on iOS and Android for $24.99. The port has all the content from the console versions, plus full cross-save and crossplay support across Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PS4, PS5, Steam, and Xbox Series X|S.
The studio first announced the mobile port back in April. Now it is actually here. The download includes the entire base game, the Digital Deluxe bonuses, and the recent "The Sinister Broker Bazario's Schemes" DLC.
The cross-platform dream
The main draw here is the seamless progression. You can gather materials on your phone during a commute, then load up the exact same save file on your PlayStation 5 to craft furniture on a bigger screen. Level-5 built a direct cross-progression workflow that actually syncs across everything.
The multiplayer works exactly the same way. Four-player co-op runs simultaneously across iOS, Switch, PS5, and Steam in the same session. It is a surprisingly robust setup for a cozy life sim. Getting Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, Apple, and Google to all play nice in the same sandbox is a minor miracle. I'm curious to see how the touch controls hold up against a standard gamepad during the more frantic dungeon runs.
Everything in the box
The mobile release gives you access to all 14 Life classes right from the start. You can bounce between being a Paladin, a Cook, or a Woodcutter depending on what your island needs that day.
The core campaign involves rebuilding a ruined island in the past to alter the present. You swap between different lives to gather resources, fight monsters, and eventually terraform the map. Having access to this entire loop on a phone without any free-to-play stamina meters or premium currency is refreshing. You gather materials in one class, use them to craft items in another, and then take those items into combat as a third.
Level-5 also rolled out a cross-platform update alongside the mobile launch. The patch adds new crossover outfits based on Professor Layton and Jibanyan from Yo-Kai Watch. These costumes are available across all platforms, not just the phone versions.
It is nice to see a mobile port that doesn't strip out features or gate content behind new microtransactions. You pay the entry fee and get the whole game, exactly as it exists on consoles. You can grab it now on the official site. Just make sure your phone has enough battery before you fall down a three-hour fishing rabbit hole.
