If you thought the initial cost of a premium pinball table was the end of your financial commitment, Stern Pinball has some bad news for your bank account. As reported by Stern Pinball, the company is celebrating the cinema classic with a new add-on that costs more than a PlayStation 5 Pro.

The JAWS 50th Anniversary Amity Island Billboard Topper is a limited-edition accessory designed specifically for the Jaws 50th Anniversary Premium Edition game. While pinball toppers are generally aesthetic additions intended to make a machine look taller and more imposing in a game room, this unit functions as a physical DLC key. Installing the topper unlocks an exclusive software experience called the "Shark is Broken" challenge mode.

The topper integrates with the game software to provide reactive lighting effects.

Hardware Meets Software

The device itself features a backlit lenticular effect and what Stern describes as "choreographed lightshows" that react to gameplay events. The housing uses a red billboard frame designed to match the "Blood Red" armor kit found on the specific anniversary edition of the table. It effectively serves as the visual crown for a machine that already commands a premium price point.

Seth Davis, President and CEO of Stern Pinball, stated that the company is "honored to celebrate 50 years of JAWS with an accessory all 50th Anniversary owners will love."

Pricing and Availability

The economics of high-end pinball have always been detached from standard video game pricing, and this release is no exception. The Amity Island Billboard Topper carries an MSRP of $1,099.99. For context, that price point rivals the cost of entire arcade cabinets from the 1990s.
