Xbox now has a dedicated merchandise shop for its studios
Microsoft launched the Xbox Game Studios Shop today, offering official apparel and items from Bethesda, Double Fine, Obsidian, and more in one place.
Xbox just opened a store for its studios' brands. The Xbox Game Studios Shop launched today. It creates a central hub for apparel and accessories based on Microsoft's massive roster of first-party developers.
Xbox Consumer Products senior director John Friend announced the launch this morning. The goal is to give players a direct way to buy items related to their favorite franchises. Microsoft has spent the last decade acquiring dozens of development teams. The company now owns Bethesda, Obsidian Entertainment, Double Fine Productions, Ninja Theory, and the entirety of Activision Blizzard. That means franchises ranging from Fallout and The Elder Scrolls to Crash Bandicoot and World of Warcraft all technically fall under the same corporate banner.
Consolidating the catalog
Finding official merchandise for those individual studios used to be a fragmented process. Some developers maintained their own independent gear websites. Others licensed their properties out to third-party apparel companies like Fangamer or Insert Coin. If you wanted a Psychonauts shirt, a Doom coffee mug, and a Sea of Thieves jacket, you often had to place three separate orders across three different websites.
This new storefront attempts to solve that problem by putting everything under one corporate umbrella. The shop allows visitors to filter products by individual games or by the development studios themselves.
The main Xbox Gear Shop has existed for years, but it historically focused heavily on the core console brand, the Xbox logo, and flagship properties like Halo. The Game Studios Shop shifts the spotlight to the broader portfolio.
Video game merchandise has changed drastically over the last twenty years. It used to consist mostly of cheap, oversized t-shirts handed out at E3 booths or midnight retail launches. Today, gaming apparel is a massive lifestyle category. Publishers sell high-end bomber jackets, custom sneakers, and expensive desk accessories designed to look like subtle streetwear rather than walking billboards.
Microsoft is clearly leaning into this premium approach. The initial lineup on the Game Studios Shop includes standard graphic tees, but it also branches into outerwear, drinkware, and home goods. Managing all of this internally gives Xbox tighter control over quality and distribution. It also keeps the profit margins entirely in-house.
Checking the digital storefronts
Microsoft is focusing on physical merchandise, but other digital storefronts are updating their game catalogs this week. If you are shopping for PC games instead of hoodies, you should always verify current pricing before adding items to your cart.
The current price for Escape Simulator on Humble Bundle is $19.99, and it is not currently listed with a 40% discount. Some earlier tracking data suggested a price drop, but the standard retail price applies today.
Similarly, you should double-check listings for other titles. While Jurassic World Evolution 3 has been announced for an October 21, 2025 release, there is no current listing for a Deluxe Edition on Humble Bundle at $63.74 (15% off).
The Xbox Game Studios Shop is live right now. It will be interesting to see if Microsoft eventually rolls the Activision Blizzard gear into this storefront, or if the World of Warcraft merchandise machine remains its own separate entity.
