Microsoft has outlined the next wave of games coming to Xbox consoles and PC between June 8 and 12. The lineup includes day-one Game Pass releases for the survival sandbox Solarpunk and the cooking roguelite Beastro. According to Xbox Wire, the platform has a busy week of indie games ahead.

These new additions join a crowded June schedule. Xbox is padding out its subscription service ahead of the summer showcase season. The schedule is packed with indie debuts and returning massive RPGs.

Floating islands and airships

Solarpunk arrives on June 8 for Xbox Series X/S and PC. Developed by the two-person team at Cyberwave and published by rokaplay, it is a survival crafting game set on a series of floating islands. You build custom airships, automate farming using wind and solar energy, and explore the skies.

The game supports up to four players in co-op. Each player can build and pilot their own airship. The solarpunk aesthetic focuses on sustainable technology and nature. You spend your time building power grids and watering plants instead of fending off mutant zombies.

The game is also scheduled to hit PlayStation 5 and the Nintendo Switch successor later this year. The Game Pass launch is strictly for the Xbox and PC ecosystems.

Cooking for adventurers

Beastro drops on June 11. Timberline Studio developed this hybrid cooking simulator and deckbuilding RPG. The developer previously made The Red Lantern, a harsh sled dog survival game. This new project is a massive tonal shift toward cozy fantasy.

You play as Panko, a feline chef in the village of Palo Pori. Instead of fighting monsters directly, you cook meals for local adventurers known as Caretakers. The food you serve dictates the abilities those heroes use in their turn-based combat encounters. You have to balance flavor profiles and gather ingredients to build the best possible deck for your patrons.

The game was originally slated for a May release. Timberline pushed it back a few weeks for extra polish. It will be available on Xbox Series X/S and PC.

Extractions and space exploration

The June 11 slate also includes Frog Sqwad and Starseeker: Astroneer Expeditions. Both games are day-one Game Pass titles. Frog Sqwad is an eight-player co-op extraction puzzle-platformer. Starseeker enters Game Preview the same day. It expands on the universe of the 2016 hit Astroneer with a new take on colorful space exploration. The original game became a massive success for System Era Softworks, and this new entry looks to capture that same low-poly charm.

Fans of massive role-playing games have something to look forward to as well. Persona 5 Royal returns to Game Pass on June 9. Atlus originally brought the 100-hour RPG to the service a few years ago before it rotated out. Its return gives players another chance to steal hearts and manage high school schedules. The Royal edition adds an extra semester, a new party member, and several menu improvements over the base release.

The rest of the week fills out with smaller releases. Beatdown City Survivors hits the Xbox storefront on June 12. The original Treachery in Beatdown City was a brilliant mix of brawler action and tactical menus, and this follow-up builds on that unique combat system. Sports fans also get two new titles. UFC 6 Ultimate Edition and NBA The Run both launch next week, offering new arcade and simulation options for fighting and basketball.
