Warframe just added a two-in-one frame and new Railjack missions

Digital Extremes has released the Jade Shadows: Constellations update for Warframe. The patch brings a dual-character frame, a new cinematic quest, and more space combat missions to all platforms.

The 2024 Jade Shadows quest ended with the Stalker dealing with sudden fatherhood. Two years later, the story picks up with a timeline-bending conflict. Two adult versions of his son have arrived from different futures. They are trying to erase each other from existence to secure their own timeline. The player has to step in and stop the eternal conflict.

The main quest forces a binary choice. You have to pick one of the brothers to support and then raid the other's ship. Warframe rarely makes players choose a permanent side in its narrative quests. This structure adds some actual tension to the storyline. The quest is playable in both solo and co-op modes.

Two frames in one

Sirius and Orion make up Warframe's 65th playable class. They operate as a single unit with a built-in swap mechanic. Players can switch between the two brothers during combat to chain different abilities together. Digital Extremes designed them with completely separate loadouts. You can assign different mods, arcanes, and color palettes to each brother.

They also bring their own heavy scythes. Sirius uses a weapon called Pride. Orion uses one called Wrath. Each scythe provides different melee buffs for slam attacks.

The dual setup gives players a lot of flexibility in how they approach high-level content.

Mentors and space combat

The brothers did not travel alone. Sirius is mentored by Ryoku, an Ash Protoframe. Orion is guided by Vena, a Garuda Protoframe. Both mentors are available as cosmetic skins in the Constellations Gemini Collection.

Each skin includes a unique emote that changes the character's idle animations.

Finishing the main quest unlocks the Uranus Proxima. This area has two new Railjack missions called Scoria's Angel and The Kuva Wytch. Players join either Ryoku or Vena for ship-to-ship combat.

Trading the resources earned from these missions unlocks gear at a secret vendor in the Pontis Tower. This new hub is located on Uranus.

Prime gear and extras

The update also brings Styanax Prime Access. Styanax originally launched in 2022 as the game's 50th Warframe. His upgrade to Prime status gives him bumped base stats and extra polarities for easier modding. The golden hoplite frame is now available alongside his signature Afentis Prime and Athodai Prime weapons. Players can buy the Prime Access pack directly or farm the necessary relics in-game.

Digital Extremes threw in several other additions for long-term players. The patch includes new Incarnon weapons, Operator hairstyles, and Arcanes. There is also a fresh batch of Augment mods to change how older abilities work. The Dante Tytonis collection is also out today. It gives the caster frame an alternate look.

The base game is free to play on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Cross-play and cross-save are fully supported. Anyone jumping in for the new quest needs to finish the original Jade Shadows storyline first. That prequel quest is the only hard requirement to start the new content.
