Vampire farming sim Moonlight Peaks gets a July 2026 release date
You play as Dracula's rebellious child in this spooky-cute take on the life simulation genre.
Little Chicken Game Company and publisher XSEED Games have announced a July 7, 2026 release date for Moonlight Peaks. The supernatural farming simulator is coming to PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo's upcoming Switch successor, and Google Play Games.
The premise is simple: you play as Count Dracula's rebellious offspring. Instead of carrying on the family legacy of terrorizing villagers and drinking blood, you decide to move to a magical town, grow cursed crops, and make friends. I will buy almost anything with an XSEED logo on the box because they localized some of the absolute best Ys games. Their work on titles like Ys: The Oath in Felghana and Ys Origin earned my permanent trust. This game is a huge departure from high-speed action RPGs, but it looks like a remarkably cozy take on the undead.
Dracula's disappointing child
The release date trailer leans heavily into the game's spooky-cute aesthetic. You do standard farming simulator tasks like watering plants and clearing land, but with a distinct gothic twist. Your shipping bin has teeth and blinking eyes. You can use magic spells to automate your watering cans. Instead of walking around your farm, you can transform into a bat to fly quickly over your garden and bypass fences.
The town of Moonlight Peaks is populated entirely by other supernatural creatures. You can befriend and romance werewolves, witches, and mermaids. The game operates on a strictly nocturnal schedule. Your daily activities happen after the sun goes down, and you need to be back in your coffin before sunrise. The trailer shows off diverse environments like a glowing cave biome filled with floating orbs and magical crystals.
Home customization appears to be a major focus. The footage shows a large interior room fully decorated with gothic furniture, potion-brewing stations, and dusty spell books. Players can expand their grimoire of spells and master potion brewing to help with their agricultural efforts. You also raise magical livestock, though the trailer keeps the exact nature of those animals somewhat mysterious.
The Marvelous connection
Moonlight Peaks was originally announced in May 2024 as a PC exclusive. This new trailer confirms the simultaneous multiplatform launch across consoles and mobile devices. XSEED Games is handling the North American release, and its sister company Marvelous Europe is publishing the game in European territories. Players can currently check out a demo on Steam, and more details are available on the game's official website.
The publisher pairing makes a lot of sense. Marvelous is the company behind the Story of Seasons and Rune Factory franchises. They know exactly how a life simulation game should function. The developers at Little Chicken Game Company are taking that established formula and wrapping it in a Halloween aesthetic. According to the developers, the town is controlled by seven distinct families. You have to uncover their secrets as you build relationships with the locals.
The farming genre is incredibly crowded right now. Standing out requires more than just a fresh coat of paint. By committing entirely to the monster theme and adjusting the core mechanics to match, Moonlight Peaks might have found a unique identity. The July 2026 release date is still over a year away. Until then, you can try the PC demo and start planning your gothic garden layout.
