The Conveni 2 just got a new gameplay trailer for PS5 and Switch 2
Hamster Corporation is bringing the 1997 retail management simulation to modern consoles, complete with grid-based layout tools and off-brand digital soda.
HAMSTER Corporation has released a new gameplay trailer for The Conveni 2. The 1997 convenience store management simulation is running on modern hardware as it prepares to join the Console Archives series for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. Hamster first listed the title on its official website in August.
Originally developed by Human Entertainment for the PlayStation and Sega Saturn, The Conveni 2 puts players in charge of a retail franchise. You place shelves. You manage inventory. You try to out-compete rival stores in a ruthless battle for local market dominance. Grid-based layout tools let you configure parking spaces and outdoor infrastructure.
The customer interaction system is surprisingly detailed. A dialog window displays individual customer profiles alongside their specific item requests and personal budgets. You have to balance these demands against your store's layout and available stock. We've all been there: staring at a spreadsheet of virtual soda sales at 2am, wondering where the business strategy fell apart.
Stocking the shelves
An album collection screen tracks unique discovered items like "Loca-Cola." It's a small detail that adds some levity to the simulation.
The Console Archives release includes standard modern updates like save states and display filters. The port also includes a double-speed mode. This makes the simulation run much faster. Players can even create custom store markers to personalize their retail empire.
The game remains entirely in Japanese. Players will need to navigate the menus and customer requests without an English translation. The language barrier is high. Trial and error is usually the only way forward when you can't read the budget reports. Building a convenience store monopoly on modern consoles means learning how to identify Loca-Cola by sight.
