That rare Ys VIII Dana figure is finally getting a reprint

Nihon Falcom has announced a reproduction run for the previously sold-out 1/7 scale figure of Dana Iclucia from Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana. According to the announcement on Falcom's official site, the figure is being manufactured by Kotobukiya and has a guaranteed pre-order window open now through May 19, 2026.

If you missed the initial release, you likely noticed the aftermarket prices creeping upward. Falcom explicitly notes that the figure has become "difficult to obtain," which is usually corporate speak for "we saw how much these are going for on eBay."

Guaranteed availability window

The manufacturing schedule follows a made-to-order format common in the PVC figure industry. Falcom states that orders placed by Tuesday, May 19, 2026, will be "guaranteed" to be fulfilled. After that date, orders will only be accepted until the production cap is reached.

The figure depicts Dana in her standard Iclucian form, wielding her signature crescent blades. It captures the character mid-motion with her blue hair flowing outward, a sculpt that requires a fair amount of shelf space compared to more static poses. For collectors who prefer buying directly from the source, the Kotobukiya Online Shop is offering a limited bonus part: a smiling faceplate that can be swapped with the standard serious expression.

The shift in Ys storytelling

For those who haven't tracked the series history, Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana originally launched on the PlayStation Vita in 2016 before porting to PS4, Switch, and PC. It marked a significant shift for the franchise. While the series typically focuses entirely on the red-headed adventurer Adol Christin, Ys VIII split the narrative duties. Players controlled Adol in the present and Dana in the past, with the two storylines eventually converging.

Ys VIII also diverges in story telling. For once, Adol doesn't have amnesia and isn't shipwrecked. Oh wait. Nevermind... It does add a great tower defence mechanic that is very satisfying.

This dual-protagonist approach helped Ys VIII become one of the most critically acclaimed entries in Falcom's 40-year history. The company, founded in 1981, has spent decades refining the action RPG genre. Ys VIII sits in the "party system" era of the franchise, a mechanical style introduced in Ys Seven (2009) where players swap between three characters on the fly to match damage types (Slash, Strike, Pierce) against enemy weaknesses.

Technical specs and scale

The figure is a 1/7 scale release, which typically translates to a height of around 23 to 25 centimeters (roughly 9 to 10 inches), though the dynamic posing and base can add to the overall footprint. Kotobukiya is a veteran manufacturer in this space, known for consistent paint application and quality control that generally sits a tier above prize figures but below high-end resin statues.

Falcom notes that the price has been adjusted for this reproduction run, a common occurrence given rising material and shipping costs in the hobby sector over the last few years.
