Super Mario is getting a new line of Crocs this July
Nintendo and Crocs are teaming up again for a new Mushroom Kingdom footwear collection. The five new clog styles launch on July 15.
Nintendo is releasing a new line of Super Mario footwear in collaboration with Crocs on July 15. The collection covers five distinct clog styles based on the Mushroom Kingdom. Sizes range from toddler up to adult platforms. I mean, why not? Nintendo has been aggressively expanding its merchandising footprint over the last decade. Putting its mascot on the world's most recognizable foam shoe feels like an inevitability. According to Nintendo, the collection will be available directly through their channels and standard Crocs retailers.
The lineup breaks down into individual character themes and one general aesthetic option. You can buy adult clogs modeled after Mario, Bowser, or Yoshi for $80. Princess Peach gets a slightly more expensive platform clog for $85. If you prefer a broader homage to the 1985 NES original, a level-themed Super Mario adult clog costs $70. Nintendo is also selling grade school and toddler variants of the level-themed design for $55 and $50, respectively.
Following up the 2025 Animal Crossing line
This is not the first time these two companies have worked together. Crocs released an Animal Crossing collection in August 2025. That collaboration sold out quickly. It proved there is a highly receptive market for video game footwear made of proprietary Croslite foam. Crocs built a massive portion of its modern business model on these exact types of licensed crossovers. The company was founded in 2002 and originally debuted its boat shoes at a Florida boat show. Now, they are a primary vehicle for pop culture merchandise.
Crocs themselves have undergone a massive public perception shift. For years, they were widely mocked as fashion disasters favored only by hospital workers and gardeners. Over the last five years, they pivoted hard into streetwear and collector culture. Collaborations with high-end designers, fast food chains, and video game publishers turned the basic foam clog into a hype item. The upcoming Super Mario line fits perfectly into this strategy.
The $85 platform option
The Princess Peach platform clog is the outlier in the pricing structure. Crocs regularly charges a premium for its elevated sole designs. It is interesting to see Nintendo greenlight a distinct fashion-forward variant for Peach rather than sticking to the standard flat clog. It shows a slight evolution in how the publisher views its merchandise demographics. They are targeting adult fans who want something slightly more stylized than a basic graphic tee or a standard foam slipper.
The Super Mario collection also includes special-edition Jibbitz charms. These are the small plastic accessories that plug into the ventilation holes on the top of the shoe. Buyers can customize their clogs with extra coins, power-ups, or character faces.
Super Mario Bros. Launched in 1985 and almost immediately spawned a merchandising empire. By the late 1980s, Mario's face was on cereal boxes, bedsheets, and bizarre live-action television shows. The modern approach is much more curated. Nintendo tightly controls where its characters appear. This makes partnerships with massive global brands like Crocs a calculated move rather than a scattershot licensing grab.
The July 15 launch date places this collection right in the middle of the summer season. Fans who want to wear Bowser on their feet to the beach will have their chance soon.
