Street Fighter 6 shows off Arjun's gameplay and October release
Capcom released the first gameplay trailer for Arjun, confirming the Year 4 DLC fighter will arrive in Street Fighter 6 on October 13.
Capcom has released the first gameplay trailer for Arjun, confirming the new DLC fighter will join the Street Fighter 6 roster on October 13, 2026. He is the second character in the Year 4 pass, following Yasmine's release in August. As previously reported, the rest of the Year 4 lineup includes guest character Tifa and story-mode figure Bosch coming in 2027.
Not your typical yoga class
The new footage shows Arjun facing off against series veterans Dhalsim and Marisa. He represents a completely different take on the franchise's Indian martial artist archetype. He doesn't rely on stretchy limbs to keep opponents away. Instead, Arjun uses a grounded, hard-hitting fighting style anchored by Stegoro Yoga and heavy breathing maneuvers.
His toolkit includes lingering wind projectiles, recoverable block damage strikes, and environmental earth traps like the Divine Pillar. He uses these tools to dictate the tempo of the match and lock down sections of the screen. It looks incredibly annoying to fight against, and that's the highest compliment you can give a zoning character.
Capcom also provided a bit of narrative context for the newcomer. Arjun is a former police officer who was framed for the murder of his partner. He currently lives on the run, seeking justice and demanding answers from anyone who gets in his way. The trailer dialogue leans heavily into this grim backstory, with Arjun asking his opponents about the nature of righteousness and wickedness before hitting them with a rock.
The Year 4 schedule
Arjun unlocks on October 13 for players who own the Year 4 Character Pass or Ultimate Pass. The standard character pass costs $29.99 and covers all four fighters in the current season. The footage highlights the RE Engine's continued flexibility, showcasing Arjun's Critical Art supers with the game's signature paint-splatter aesthetic. The visual flair emphasizes the heavy impact of his strikes, contrasting with the more fluid animations of characters like Chun-Li or Kimberly.
Street Fighter 6 is currently available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, and the Nintendo Switch 2. The game originally launched in the summer of 2023 and completely revitalized Capcom's fighting game community after the rocky lifespan of its predecessor. The addition of the Drive System and Modern controls brought in a massive new audience, and the recent expansion to Nintendo's new hardware means the player base is larger than ever.
Now in its fourth year of active support, the game remains a centerpiece at major esports events like EVO and the Capcom Cup. More details about the upcoming roster additions are available on the official Street Fighter 6 website.
Street Fighter 6 is available on Humble Bundle for $19.99 (50% off).
