It is a slow news day, so I was scrolling to look for interesting pickups. These are my favorites from today's batch.

They are not AAA blockbusters. You might encounter some janky mechanics here and there, but they offer a good time for the price. Some of these discounts are frankly absurd. Yes, I purchased 2 of these. I already owned the others. I'm a digial hoarder.

71 cents for Cyber Avenger

Sometimes you just have to roll the dice on a complete unknown. Cyber Avenger is a deeply obscure indie title. The storefront tags list it as an action, sports, adventure, and strategy hybrid. I cannot tell you exactly how those genres blend together here. But the pricing math is fascinating. I don't know why, but this feels like a very early Super Giant game.

The game normally retails for $17.99. It is currently sitting at a 96 percent discount. The price drop brings the total to exactly 71 cents. It costs less than a pack of gum. If you have some spare change sitting in a digital wallet, it might be worth investigating just to see what a 71-cent strategy-sports game looks like.

Black holes and anatomical weapons

GRIME is a surreal action-adventure RPG where you play as a humanoid black hole and explore a world made of anatomical parts. Clover Bite released this Metroidvania back in 2021, and it stands out because you absorb enemies with your head to gain their traits. The parry system is the core of the combat loop. Instead of just deflecting attacks, timing your block perfectly allows you to consume the enemy entirely.

It is currently available for $11.24. That is a 55 percent discount from its usual $24.99 price tag.

90 percent off Celtic mythology

Developed by Clever Beans, Gods Will Fall is a top-down action game where you guide a band of Celtic warriors through the realms of cruel deities. The combat can feel a bit stiff at times, but the roguelike structure of managing your surviving roster adds genuine tension to each dungeon run. You enter a domain with eight distinct fighters. When one falls in combat, they are trapped inside. You must then send another warrior in to rescue them and defeat the boss.

You can grab it on Humble Bundle for just $1.49, down 90 percent from $14.99.

Point and click telekinesis

Daedalic Entertainment built a reputation on traditional point-and-click adventure games, and Anna's Quest is a solid example of their formula. It follows a young girl with telekinetic powers as she navigates a dark fairy tale world filled with witches and trolls. The puzzles rely heavily on combining inventory items with your psychic abilities. It blends a cute art style with surprisingly grim narrative themes inspired by the Brothers Grimm.

The game is on sale for $1.99, taking 90 percent off the standard $19.99 cost.

The best kind of Eurojank

Cyanide Studio released this action RPG adaptation of the classic tabletop game in 2021. In Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood, you play as an eco-terrorist who fights an evil corporation. You swap between human stealth, wolf exploration, and a massive bipedal combat form. Published by Nacon, this is the definition of a mid-tier action game from the PlayStation-3 era that just happened to release a generation later. You spend half your time sneaking through generic office buildings and the other half tearing through heavily armed guards as a nine-foot-tall monster.

I've watched this one streamed on Twitch. It's cool! It has plenty of rough edges, but the Champion of Gaia Edition is down to $3.99 from its original $39.97. That 90 percent discount makes the B-tier action much easier to swallow.
