Slow News Day Deals
It is a quiet Monday, so I rounded up some steep discounts on Humble Bundle for retro classics and modern homages that I actually play.
It's a very slow news day. So, much like our previous deals roundups, I'm just going to share some amazing discounts I found for games I actually play. Humble Bundle has a batch of retro titles and modern arcade homages on sale right now, and the discounts are steep enough to justify grabbing anything you missed.
Modern arcade revivals

Tribute Games and Dotemu built a cooperative beat 'em up that captures the energy of the 1987 animated series and the classic Konami arcade cabinets. It's a fantastic six-player brawler that is great for local co-op nights. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge is down to $9.99 from its original $24.99, a 60% discount.

Speaking of Dotemu, their 2020 revival of Sega's defining brawler franchise is also heavily discounted. The hand-drawn art style and fluid combat mechanics make it one of the best action games of the last decade. You can grab Streets of Rage 4 for $6.24, which is 75% off the standard $24.99 price tag.

Before Sabotage Studio made Sea of Stars, they released an excellent action-platformer that shifts seamlessly from an 8-bit linear adventure into a 16-bit Metroidvania. The platforming is tight, and the shopkeeper's dialogue is genuinely funny. The Messenger is currently $3.99, an 80% drop from $19.99.

Doinksoft's monochromatic "meowtroidvania" puts an armored cat inside an alien research facility. It's a short, focused map that respects your time and controls beautifully. Gato Roboto is available for just $1.19, an 85% discount off the usual $7.99.

Lizardcube rebuilt the 1989 Master System classic with gorgeous hand-drawn animation, but kept the original code running underneath so you can swap to the 8-bit graphics at the press of a button. It's a masterclass in how to update a retro game. Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap is 75% off, bringing the $19.99 price down to $4.99.
The ones you probably already own
Shinji Mikami's 2005 survival horror masterpiece has been ported to nearly every piece of electronics with a screen, but the PC version remains a staple. The over-the-shoulder camera design changed action games forever, and the inventory management is still satisfying. The original Resident Evil 4 is sitting at $4.99, a 75% cut from $19.99.

Ubisoft's 2003 3D action-platformer defined an entire era of traversal mechanics and time-rewind puzzles. The wall-running acrobatics still feel great today, even if the combat shows its age. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is marked down 80% to $1.99 from $9.99.

If you want to go further back, the franchise's roots are also on sale. The rotoscoped animation of the original game set a new standard for cinematic platformers back in the day. You can pick up the classic Prince of Persia for $1.99, an 80% discount off the $9.99 retail price.

This compilation packs in four classic vertical scrolling shooters: Raiden, Raiden Fighters, Raiden Fighters 2, and Raiden Fighters Jet. It's a solid way to get your arcade bullet-hell fix on modern hardware without tracking down original boards. Raiden Legacy is 80% off, dropping from $9.99 to $1.99.
As always with these digital storefront sales, these prices are subject to change.
