PlayStation Plus is getting Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and a new Test Drive

Sony has announced the February 2026 additions to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog, headlined by Insomniac’s Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and the open-world racer Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown. According to the official PlayStation Blog, the full lineup will be available to Extra and Premium subscribers starting February 17.

This update marks the arrival of one of the PlayStation 5's biggest first-party exclusives to the subscription service. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 originally launched in late 2023, continuing the narrative established in the 2018 original and the Miles Morales spin-off. The game allows players to swap instantly between Peter Parker and Miles Morales, a technical showcase for the PS5's SSD that marketing teams were very excited about three years ago.

Open roads and long delays

The other major addition is Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown. This open-world racer had a difficult development cycle, arriving 13 years after Test Drive Unlimited 2. The franchise was originally known for pioneering the "lifestyle" racing MMO format (buying houses, visiting dealerships) long before Forza Horizon standardized the concept. Solar Crown attempts to reclaim that territory with a 1:1 recreation of Hong Kong Island, though it faces significantly stiffer competition today than its predecessors did in 2011.

Turn-based monster hunting

Capcom is bringing both Monster Hunter Stories and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin to the catalog. These titles are significant departures from the mainline series. Instead of the real-time, hitbox-obsessed combat of standard Monster Hunter, the Stories spin-offs use a turn-based rock-paper-scissors combat system.

The first game originally launched on the Nintendo 3DS in 2016 before being ported to mobile and eventually modern consoles. It focuses on raising monsters ("Monsties") rather than turning them into hats, which is a nice change of pace if you usually feel guilty about the ecological devastation caused in the main games.

Indies and a PS2 robot

The update includes several notable indie titles. Neva comes from Nomada Studio, the developers behind the visually striking Gris. Like their previous work, it emphasizes art direction and emotional narrative over complex mechanics. Season: A Letter to the Future is also joining the service. Developed by Scavengers Studio, it is a bicycle road trip game where you document a world moments before a cataclysmic event resets everything. It is surprisingly relaxing for a game about the apocalypse.

For PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers, the "Classics" catalog is adding Disney Pixar Wall-E. Originally released in 2008 on the PlayStation 2 (and almost every other platform in existence), this licensed platformer was developed by Heavy Iron Studios. While licensed movie tie-ins from the mid-2000s have a reputation for being shovelware, the console versions of Wall-E were generally considered competent platformers for the time.

Other titles hitting the service on February 17 include the narrative cooking game Venba, Echoes of the End: Enhanced Edition, and Rugby 25.
