Palworld 1.0 and a Black Flag remake hit Xbox this week

Xbox's release slate for the week of July 6 to 10 is headlined by the 1.0 launch of Palworld and a ground-up remake of Assassin's Creed Black Flag. According to Xbox's weekly release roundup, the new lineup hits consoles and PC by the end of the week. The summer release schedule is usually quiet, but July is packed with major updates and highly anticipated remakes.

Palworld Version 1.0 hits Game Pass on Friday

Palworld officially leaves early access on July 10. Pocketpair's survival crafting game launched in early 2024 and immediately took over the internet with its monster-catching mechanics and firearms. The initial launch broke concurrent player records on Steam and dominated Xbox live charts for months. The 1.0 update brings the game to its full release state. Pocketpair has spent the last two years refining the base-building systems, fixing multiplayer stability, and expanding the map.

It is available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 5. It is also a Game Pass release for both console and PC subscribers. Game Pass members have had access to the Game Preview version since launch, but this update finalizes the core mechanics. The patch adds new regions to explore, new Pals to capture, and a massive World Tree endgame area. Early access save files will transfer seamlessly to the final version.

Ubisoft is releasing Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced on July 9. This is a complete remake of the 2013 original built on the modern Anvil engine. The publisher overhauled the naval combat, updated the parkour mechanics, and added ray-traced lighting to the Caribbean setting. The original game bridged the gap between the Xbox 360 and Xbox One generations. Now, it is getting a proper current-generation treatment with improved water simulation and real-time weather effects.

Edward Kenway's pirate adventure is widely considered one of the best entries in the franchise. It shifted the series focus away from dense city stealth and toward open-ocean exploration. Ubisoft later reused that naval combat formula for Skull and Bones.

10 hours of College Football 27

Sports fans get an early look at EA Sports College Football 27. EA Play members get access to a 10-hour trial starting July 2, 2026. Since EA Play is bundled with Game Pass Ultimate, Ultimate subscribers can download the trial directly without paying extra. This gives players a full weekend to test out the new mechanics before committing to a purchase.

The college football franchise returned recently after a decade-long hiatus caused by player likeness disputes. EA finally resolved those issues by allowing real college athletes to opt into the game for compensation. This year's entry builds on that foundation with deeper dynasty mode customization, new mascot mashup modes, and updated rosters. The full game launches on July 9, 2026, across Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. Any progress made during the 10-hour trial will carry over to the final release.
