Ninja Baseball League-Man's new trailer shows off its Jaleco crossover stage

City Connection and Irem have released a new trailer for Ninja Baseball League-Man: Bases Loaded. The update reveals a crossover stage with Jaleco's classic Bases Loaded alongside gameplay for the newly playable character Pink. The full game, which was announced last week, launches on December 10 for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

A new collaboration stage is coming to the beat 'em up's "Climax Season" arranged mode. Players will fight through an environment based directly on Jaleco's 1987 NES baseball game Moero!! Pro Yakyuu. You probably know that title as Bases Loaded in North America. The crossover makes literal sense given the shared names and baseball themes. Applying arcade brawler mechanics to a traditional sports backdrop is just funny. It works.

Pink joins the roster

We also get a good look at Pink in action. Originally just a support character in the 1993 arcade original, she's now a fully playable fighter.

She uses cheerleader pom-poms and high kicks to clear out enemies on a cruise ship deck. The developers added single-button special moves this time around. That should make the combo system a bit more accessible for newcomers who don't want to memorize arcade inputs.

Four players and new modes

The game supports four-player local co-op. You'll also find a handful of new mini-games in the package.

Players can compete in a home run derby or a chaotic car race between standard beat 'em up stages. Composer Yosuke Yasui arranged the new soundtrack, but purists aren't left out. You can toggle back to the original 1993 arcade audio in the menus.

It's a strange but welcome revival for a game that never saw a home console port during its original arcade run. The physical edition in Japan includes a soundtrack CD and a fan book with original arcade design documents.
