Kenshiro is coming to City of the Wolves this June
The Fist of the North Star protagonist joins SNK's fighting game as the final character in Season Pass 2.
Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star is joining Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves this June. The martial artist is the final downloadable character for the game's second season pass. SNK previously teased the crossover back in March, but the full character reveal provides a clear look at how his fighting style translates to the 2D plane.
City of the Wolves launched in April 2025 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. It was the first new entry in the series since 1999. Adding a guest character from a post-apocalyptic anime is a departure from the usual South Town roster, but Kenshiro fits right in with the heavy hitters.
No, really
It is a strange crossover, but it works. Kenshiro is voiced by Clayton Alexander and retains his familiar moveset. He uses the Hokuto Hundred-Fist Rush and the Boulder-Splitting Slash against the regular cast.
The developers matched the visual flair of his original series. His super moves trigger bold Japanese calligraphy across the screen, matching the dramatic timing of his source material.
Fist of the North Star (Hokuto no Ken) started as a manga in 1983 before becoming a massive anime franchise. It follows Kenshiro as he wanders a nuclear wasteland using an assassination art that targets pressure points. His opponents usually explode a few seconds after he hits them. SNK adapted this lethal style into the City of the Wolves engine without breaking the game balance. His attacks still look devastating, but they just drain the health bar instead of instantly turning Terry Bogard into a red mist.
Hanging out in South Town
He is not just a multiplayer addition. Kenshiro appears in a bar setting during the Episodes of South Town mode.

Episodes of South Town is a mode where players level up their fighters and equip skills while progressing through a map. Seeing Kenshiro casually hanging out in a South Town bar next to regular SNK characters is surreal. Guest characters in fighting games are usually restricted to the character select screen. SNK went the extra mile to put him in the actual offline content.
Season Pass 2 wraps up
Kenshiro closes out the second year of downloadable content. The rest of the Season Pass 2 roster includes Kim Jae Hoon, Nightmare Geese, Blue Mary, Wolfgang Krauser, and Mr. Karate. The mix of returning veterans and one massive anime guest makes this a heavy-hitting lineup.
To coincide with the character release, SNK discounted the game across digital storefronts. The Legend Edition is currently $29.99, which is a steep drop from its usual $49.99. That version includes the base game and both the first and second season passes. If you already own the base game and just want Season Pass 2, it costs $19.99.
If you skipped the fighting game rush of 2025, the discounted bundle is a good excuse to catch up. You can grab it directly from SNK's official site or your platform of choice. Fighting games usually charge a premium for guest characters, so getting him bundled in a larger sale softens the blow.
