Foretales is a narrative adventure that uses a tabletop card system to handle everything from combat to diplomacy. You play as an avian thief trying to stop a dark prophecy. The Epic Games Store is giving it away until July 30. (Epic also teased some other updates and releases today, along with a Control behind-the-scenes video and a Where Winds Meet trailer, but Foretales is the freebie you want to grab.)
Steam
Yet Another Zombie Defense HD is a top-down arcade shooter with base-building mechanics. Awesome Games Studio made it free to celebrate the upcoming 1.0 release of its sequel. Add it to your Steam account before July 30.
Amazon Prime Gaming
Mystic Academy: Escape Room puts you in a 3D wizarding school where you have to solve puzzles to pass your final exams. Prime members can claim a GOG code for this one. The offer expires on August 22. (GOG also posted today about their digital ownership policies and shared a Thief demake animation, but this Prime code is how you get a free game on the platform right now.)
In Sound Mind is a first-person psychological horror game with a soundtrack by The Living Tombstone. It has some incredibly inventive boss fights. You have until September 23 to claim it via the Amazon Games App.
