JSAUX has launched the first two products under its VOIDJOY sub-brand today, entering the controller market with the $49.99 SkyLark S1 Pro and the $39.99 Elite Extender. The accessory manufacturer teased the new label back in August, but today marks the actual release of the hardware.

The company built its reputation over the last four years by making docks, carrying cases, and modular protective grips for the Steam Deck and other PC handhelds. When Valve launched the Steam Deck in 2022, JSAUX was one of the first third-party manufacturers to produce reliable docking stations, capturing a massive share of the enthusiast market. Moving into dedicated input hardware is a natural next step, but it puts them in direct competition with established controller specialists like 8BitDo and Gulikit.

TMR sticks in a flat shell

The SkyLark S1 Pro is a compact, travel-friendly gamepad that borrows its blocky form factor from the 8BitDo Lite 2. According to Retro Handhelds, JSAUX packed higher-end components into the small frame. It uses Tunneling Magnetoresistance (TMR) thumbsticks with a 1000Hz polling rate. TMR sticks are the current darling of the controller enthusiast scene, offering the same immunity to stick drift as Hall effect sensors but with lower power consumption and higher precision. The sticks sit recessed in the shell to prevent snagging in a backpack.

The rest of the inputs include optical linear triggers and membrane switches for the D-pad and face buttons. It connects via Bluetooth, a 2.4GHz dongle, or USB-C. Platform support covers PC, Android, iOS, PlayStation 3, and both the current Nintendo Switch and its successor. It does not support PlayStation 5 or Xbox consoles. The internal 1,000mAh battery provides roughly ten hours of playtime.

Bolting paddles onto a Switch Pro Controller

The second product is the Elite Extender, an aftermarket add-on designed specifically for the official Nintendo Switch Pro Controller. The Switch Pro Controller is a solid gamepad, but it lacks the modular back paddles and adjustable trigger stops found on modern competitive controllers.

The Elite Extender snaps onto the back of the official pad to fill that gap. It adds programmable rear buttons, detachable extended triggers, and macro functionality configured through a companion app called KeyLinker. It also houses its own 1,800mAh battery pack to keep the controller charged during long sessions. I am curious how heavy the final assembly feels with an extra battery strapped to the back of an already substantial controller. It looks a bit like a science experiment, but it solves a real problem for people who refuse to give up their official Nintendo pads.

Public demos in Berlin this week

Both devices are available to order now. JSAUX is bringing the hardware to IFA 2026 in Berlin, which runs from September 4 to September 8. Attendees can test the controllers at the company's booth in the Messe Berlin exhibition center. It will be interesting to see if the VOIDJOY line expands into full-size traditional gamepads next, or if JSAUX sticks to travel accessories and aftermarket add-ons.
