Goblin Cleanup is coming to PS5, Xbox Series, and Switch 2 in 2027
The co-op game about cleaning up dungeons after messy adventurers is heading to consoles alongside its full PC release.
Team17 and Apasalu Games are bringing their dungeon janitor simulator Goblin Cleanup to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Switch 2 in 2027. The console versions will launch alongside the 1.0 release on PC.
The game first hit Steam Early Access back in September 2025. As previously reported, this 2027 launch window covers all current-generation consoles and marks the end of the early access period.
You and up to three friends play as a crew of goblin maids. Your job is to scrub the dungeon clean after a party of heroes has completely wrecked the place. The local dungeon manager hired you to reset the entire facility before the next group of greedy adventurers arrives.
Team17 has a long history of publishing chaotic co-op games. They handled the Overcooked series, which mastered the art of ruining friendships over simple tasks. Goblin Cleanup takes that same frantic energy and applies it to fantasy janitorial work. The shift from cooking food to scrubbing goblin blood is a logical next step.
Apasalu Games built the game around the idea that adventurers are basically vandals. They kick open doors, smash pottery, and leave body parts everywhere. The fantasy genre rarely stops to ask who has to clean up after a raid. This game finally gives those unsung heroes a mop.
Grabbing the mop
The core loop involves resetting every single room. You have to scrub blood off the ceilings with a specialized tool called a Slimop. The physics system lets you use a slime dispenser and a mimic to help clear out the heavy debris. You also need to put broken furniture back in its exact original place.
A proper dungeon needs hazards. You have to reactivate the floor spikes, swinging blades, and pressure plates. The tricky part is avoiding the traps that the previous heroes somehow missed. One wrong step will turn your goblin into another mess that your friends have to clean up.
Monster management
You are also in charge of the local wildlife. You have to dispose of dead creatures and respawn new ones for the next raid. Sometimes the monsters are not actually dead. A half-alive boss monster like Dungeon Daddy will complicate your cleaning schedule.
The cooperative element seems designed to cause friction. You can play perfectly together, or you can intentionally mess with your coworkers. Dropping a monster corpse on a freshly mopped floor is a guaranteed way to start an argument.
The entire premise owes a lot to games like Viscera Cleanup Detail. Flipping the perspective from the victorious heroes to the underpaid monster janitors is a great hook. Co-op cleaning games rely entirely on the physics engine behaving badly. I want to see how chaotic the four-player mode gets when someone accidentally triggers a freshly reset trap.
