Estelle Bright is getting her own exasperated voice alarm clock

Merchandise manufacturer Fulton Japan has announced a new The Legend of Heroes: Trails series alarm clock featuring newly recorded voice lines from protagonist Estelle Bright. The physical clock is built with iron bells and will cost ¥8,800 (roughly $56) when pre-orders open later this month.

The concept behind the audio is highly specific. Estelle wakes you up while sounding exasperated but ultimately taking care of you. The clock includes completely new voice work by Tomoyo Takayanagi, who took over the role of Estelle in recent entries like Trails of Cold Steel IV and Hajimari no Kiseki.

I am notoriously bad at waking up on time, and I usually rely on my phone's default radar chime. My current morning routine involves hitting snooze three times before finally dragging myself to the coffee machine. I suspect Estelle would not tolerate that kind of behavior, so having a senior Bracer audibly sigh at my inability to get out of bed might actually be the motivation I need.

Iron bells and classic music

Alongside the voice lines, the clock includes the track "Whereabouts of the Stars" (Hoshi no Arika) by Falcom Sound Team jdk and vocalist u-mi. This is the ending theme from 2004's Trails in the Sky. That game first introduced Estelle and kicked off the massive, interconnected narrative that Falcom is still building today.

Estelle remains one of the most popular protagonists in the genre. When she debuted on the PC over twenty years ago, her cheerful, straightforward personality and giant staff provided a sharp contrast to the brooding heroes that dominated role-playing games at the time. Her journey from a rookie Bracer in the Liberl Kingdom to an internationally recognized hero anchors the entire first era of the franchise.

The transition of voice actors is a notable piece of series history. Original voice actress Akemi Kanda voiced Estelle for years, defining the character's energetic tone. Takayanagi stepped into the role for the newer 3D titles, and this clock uses her modern interpretation of the character.

The hardware itself is a traditional twin-bell alarm clock design. It measures 180mm tall and weighs just over 300 grams. The main body, bells, and legs are made of iron, while the back cover is plastic. A switch on the back lets you toggle between a standard mechanical bell ring and the custom audio playback.

A very specific merchandise niche

Fulton Japan has carved out a unique corner of the gaming merchandise market. Instead of standard t-shirts or plushies, they focus heavily on premium timepieces and jewelry. Their current catalog is packed with anniversary watches, including chronographs for Black Lagoon's 25th anniversary, Ultraman Tiga's 30th anniversary, and Ultraman's 60th anniversary.

The Estelle clock will be available to reserve starting June 24, 2026, at 10:00 AM Japan Standard Time. Quantities are limited, and the company expects to begin shipping the finalized units in early September 2026.

While Falcom frequently licenses its characters for acrylic standees and wall scrolls, functional electronics are a bit rarer. It is a neat piece of physical merchandise for a character who has carried the Trails franchise for over two decades.
