Steam
Fanatical is giving away 50,000 Steam keys for Spooky Cats. It's a 2D platformer from 2015 where you play as a kitten collecting pennies in a haunted mansion. You need to link a Steam account to grab this one, and the offer expires on October 9.

itch.io
The Midnight Bus is a short psychological horror game that traps you on an empty commuter vehicle during a blizzard. Developer itandfeel is offering it for free right now.
Solace Inc. is a roguelite action game from aplovestudio. It is currently free to download and keep. The pixel art looks sharp, and it runs on almost any older PC.
Anuke's Mindustry blends tower defense with factory automation. You build conveyor belts to supply your turrets and defend against waves of enemies. It's free to claim on itch.io, though you can toss the developer a few dollars if you want.
Fissionary rounds out the itch.io list with a full version download available at no cost. The puzzle mechanics look solid. Claim it before the developer ends the promotional window.
These promotions don't last forever. Claim them before the developers pull the discounts.
