May 12th free games roundup

Here is a quick look at what is free to claim today! We've found three exciting titles, including a new indie survival project on Itch.io and a pair of sci-fi strategy games on GOG.

Itch.io

The Dark Sharpshooter is an early-in-development survival game where you navigate a city filled with criminals and try to avoid the titular sharpshooter at night. It is available as a free download on Itch.io right now. Since it is a standard freeware indie release, there is no set expiration date.

GOG

Fans of sci-fi strategy are in for a treat with two fantastic titles available for free on GOG. First up is Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes, a new adventure set in the iconic universe. This game offers a fresh take on the Battlestar Galactica saga, letting you command your fleet and make critical decisions for humanity's survival. It's free to claim until May 16, 2026, at 1 PM UTC.

Also free on GOG is Crying Suns, a tactical rogue-lite that puts you in the role of a space fleet commander exploring a dying galaxy. From the same studio as Scattered Hopes, it shares a similar strategic depth and compelling narrative. Don't miss out on this critically acclaimed title, also free until May 16, 2026, at 1 PM UTC.

Remember that free game offers are time-limited. Be sure to grab these titles before their respective deadlines, especially the GOG games which expire on May 16th!
