Invincible VS is adding The Immortal and Universa this week
Season One of the 3v3 tag fighter launches June 30 with new characters, corporate Viltrumite skins, and an Endless Ladder mode.
Quarter Up is adding The Immortal and Universa to Invincible VS on June 30. The Season One update expands the 3v3 tag fighter's roster and introduces new single-player modes alongside a fresh batch of cosmetics.
The update arrives just under two months after the base game's early May launch. Sony promoted the update on its PlayStation channels, but the DLC is coming to all platforms where the brutal superhero brawler is currently available. That includes Xbox Series X/S and PC. Developer Quarter Up and publisher Skybound Games have established a standard fighting game roadmap for their $50 title.
The Immortal brings his aggressive brawling style to the arena. As the former leader of the Guardians of the Globe, his moveset relies on heavy hits and extended aerial combos that can juggle heavyweights like Battle Beast. Universa expands the cosmic side of the lineup. Her energy staff and teleportation abilities should bring a completely different zoning playstyle compared to the roster's pure physical strikers.
These two additions bring the total roster to 20 characters. The base game launched with 18 fighters and a complex mechanics system. Players have spent the last few weeks mastering combo breakers, pushblocks, and tag assists. Injecting two new characters into a 3v3 format instantly multiplies the potential team compositions and assist synergies.
Corporate casual conquest
The update also brings the Undercover Viltrumites bundle. This cosmetic pack puts the game's most lethal invaders in everyday clothing. The pack includes "Biznissa" Anissa in a sharp corporate pantsuit, "Athleisure" Thula in workout gear, and "Overdressed" Lucan. It is a ridiculous contrast to the game's Mature 17+ blood and gore rating. Watching a woman in business casual eviscerate Omni-Man is exactly the kind of tone this franchise aims for.
Fighting games live or die on their single-player offerings. Invincible VS launched with a cinematic story mode, but Season One introduces an Endless Ladder mode to keep solo players busy. This provides a traditional arcade-style survival run. Players can earn new profile items and cosmetic rewards by climbing the ranks. It gives casual players a place to practice their motion controls and boost dashes without getting destroyed in online lobbies.
EVO France plans
The multiverse-hopping antagonist Angstrom Levy is next in line. He will join the roster in Fall 2026. Attendees at the upcoming EVO France tournament will get the first hands-on time with the character. His portal mechanics have obvious potential for a fighting game. He could easily function as a trap character or someone with unpredictable screen transitions. Given his role in the comics, his ultimate attack is bound to be a cinematic multiversal beatdown.
The base roster already covers the primary heavy hitters from the Amazon Prime animated series. These DLC seasons give Quarter Up room to pull from the comic's weirder deep cuts. The Year 1 Character Pass will likely continue this trend of mixing obvious fan favorites with more obscure villains. For now, players have two new fighters to lab when the update goes live on Tuesday.
