Delta Force just launched Season Echo with a new acoustic operator

Team Jade has launched Season Echo for its free-to-play tactical shooter Delta Force. The update brings a new acoustic intelligence operator named Morse to PC, consoles, and mobile devices.

Delta Force has had a strange journey. NovaLogic created the original military simulation in 1998. The series helped define the tactical shooter genre alongside Rainbow Six. The franchise went dormant in 2009 after the release of Delta Force: Xtreme 2. Fans assumed the series was dead until Team Jade and publisher Level Infinite revived the name in 2025 with a free-to-play model and cross-platform progression.

Acoustic warfare

The new season focuses heavily on narrative framing. Morse's real name is Luke Everley. His story revolves around a failed mission from two years ago. The plot kicks off with a debriefing about an incident involving a naval intelligence submarine.

The main conflict centers on the Haavk. This is a massive cargo ship currently navigating the Akh Canal.

The primary objective involves securing yellow canisters of Dark Star fuel packed inside shipping containers. Military shooters love a good MacGuffin, and glowing yellow canisters fit the bill perfectly.

Morse joins the roster as a Recon class operator. He uses acoustic equipment to track enemy movements and jam their communications. His toolset is built around sound manipulation. Players who rely on audio cues to hold angles will have to adjust their strategies. The new operator can actively weaponize footsteps and reload sounds against defenders.

Three pillars of combat

Delta Force currently splits its gameplay into three distinct modes. Hazard Operations is the game's extraction shooter mode. Squads drop into hostile territory to scavenge loot and escape. Warfare provides large-scale 32v32 battles with vehicles and massive maps. The game also includes a cooperative campaign based on the classic Black Hawk Down release from 2003. Team Jade rebuilt the campaign in Unreal Engine for modern visual fidelity.

In Hazard Operations, sound dictates survival. Squads spend most of their time creeping through abandoned buildings and listening for rival teams. An operator who can manipulate those sounds gives their squad an advantage during extractions. Morse can deploy jammers to deafen opponents before a push. His ultimate ability is an advanced sonar sweep that pings enemies based on the noise they make.

Multiplatform deployment

Sony promoted the update heavily on its PlayStation channels, but Delta Force is a multiplatform release. The game is available across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, iOS, and Android. The mobile versions include cross-progression with the PC client. This lets players level up their battle pass on a phone before jumping back to a desktop monitor for serious matches.

Most operators in the current meta rely on brute force or visual cover like smoke grenades. Morse shifts the focus to audio intelligence. It is a different approach to room clearing that does not involve throwing three frag grenades through a doorway and hoping for the best.
