A new Bandai Namco RPG is getting revealed on March 6
Bandai Namco America is announcing a brand new role-playing game this week. Here is when to tune in and what to expect from the publisher.
Bandai Namco Entertainment America is announcing a new role-playing game on March 6 at 8:00 AM Japan Standard Time. According to Game Watch Impress, the publisher has scheduled a formal reveal for the mystery title. Because of the time zone difference, viewers in North America can actually catch the news on March 5 at 3:00 PM Pacific or 6:00 PM Eastern.
The company has already set up a YouTube premiere page for the event.

A 3 PM Pacific reveal
The announcement appears to be a global reveal, with Bandai Namco Europe releasing the initial teaser, indicating it is not solely driven by the American branch. The publisher formed its American branch in 2006 by merging Namco Hometek and Bandai Games. Today, the Irvine-based office handles the Western distribution for the company's biggest global hits. When the American division plays a prominent role in a global reveal, it often points to a project designed with a massive Western audience in mind.
We do not have a title, developer, or platform list yet. The "RPG" label is also doing a lot of heavy lifting. Bandai Namco's catalog spans everything from traditional turn-based adventures to action games where anime teenagers scream at gods. The broadcast will clear up exactly what subgenre we are dealing with.
Following up Tales of Arise
Bandai Namco has a massive footprint in the role-playing space. On the publishing side, they handle FromSoftware's output. That partnership brought the Dark Souls trilogy and Elden Ring to global audiences. Internally, the company develops the long-running Tales franchise. The last mainline entry in that series was Tales of Arise back in 2021. Five years is a standard development cycle for a modern big-budget role-playing game. A new Tales announcement fits that timeline perfectly.
The company's roots go back much further than the modern era. Namco originally established itself in 1955 before eventually merging with Bandai in 2006. Over the decades, they have published cult classic RPGs like Xenosaga on the PlayStation 2 and Baten Kaitos on the GameCube. Fans of classic gaming constantly hope for revivals of these dormant properties. A brand new entry in a legacy franchise is exactly the kind of announcement that gets people to tune into a midweek YouTube stream.
They also hold the video game rights to practically every major Shonen Jump property. They regularly publish RPGs based on Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, and One Piece. A new adaptation of a popular manga is always on the table when Bandai Namco schedules a press event.
Looking past the PlayStation 4
Whatever this game turns out to be, it will likely skip the previous console generation. Most major publishers have finally stopped building games around the technical limits of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. A new RPG announced in 2026 is almost certainly targeting the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, and PC. Nintendo's upcoming hardware could also be a target, depending on the graphical demands of the engine.
Bandai Namco has historically been very consistent with PC releases. Unlike some Japanese publishers that treat Steam as an afterthought, Bandai Namco usually launches its major RPGs on PC on the exact same day as the console versions. If this new game follows their standard playbook, PC players will not have to wait six months for a port.
The broadcast is scheduled to be relatively brief. We will know exactly what Bandai Namco has been working on by Wednesday afternoon in the US.
